Seamless steel pipe is formed by forcing molten metal through a circular die with a plug in the center to form a long tube of continuous metal, which is then cut to the proper length; usually 21 feet or 40 feet.
Unlike seam-welded rolled and welded pipe, seamless pipe has a more uniform consistency. Seamless pipe can withstand higher working pressures and temperatures than welded pipe, and fluid flow through seamless pipe is generally less turbulent than that of welded pipe.
